Aluminum
We use aluminum mostly for small-to-medium sized long term out-door signage. The benefits of this material are that it’s lightweight and thin, but surprisingly tough. We usually use 040 gauge with a white enamel coating, but several gauges and colors are available.
Coroplast
This is an inexpensive corrugated plastic material for small-to-medium sized temporary outdoor signage. It is often used with H-stakes to form lawn signs for golf tournaments and construction projects. It comes in several colors. Coro is an economic material, but is not recommended for long term use since it is not very durable.
Dibond
Dibond is an aluminum composite material (ACM) made of two pre-painted sheets of .012″ aluminum with a solid polyethylene core. Dibond is masked on both sides. It is noted for its flatness, superior surface quality, durability, and light-weight. It is great for medium-large sized long-term outdoor signage.
Foam Core
This is an inexpensive material that we use for temporary small-to-medium sized indoor signage. This material is great for short term use, however it is prone to being dented and damaged easily. We recommend it for presentations and weekend events. Foam core signs can be produced inexpensively, but the trade-off is the lack of durability.
Gator Board
This material is best used for small-to-large medium-term indoor signage. It is similar to foam core, however the core of this material is much stronger and the faces are plastic rather than paper. It comes in varying colors and thicknesses but we typically use 1/8″ or 1/4″. One of our most of attractive products features 1″ gator board with edge-banding and mounted photographs.
Lexan
Lexan is a brand name for multiple products, however, usually when we’re talking about Lexan, we’re talking about a thin plastic material that can easily be rolled up and shipped along with large tradeshow displays. Lexan is an interesting plastic, because it has no “memory,” – meaning that it can spend a long time tightly curled up, but still unroll and lay perfectly flat. Most of the time we mount graphics to the front of this material, and border the rear of it with Velcro so that the panel can be attached to a carpeted display.
Magnetic
This material is used most commonly for vehicle graphics. It is a thin, rollable magnetic sheet with a thick vinyl face. We normally mount printed graphics to the magnetic and round the corners. This material is ideal for those who need to have graphics on their vehicles only sometimes. However, it should be noted that some care must be taken with this material, as it has the potential to damage the vehicle if it isn’t removed and cleaned regularly.
Omega Board
Vinyl / Aluminum Face
This is a plywood material that comes in multiple thicknesses with either a vinyl or aluminum face. It can be single-or double sided. This material is used most often for large, long-term outdoor signage. It is a heavy duty material that is normally used for bigger projects, such as post-and-panel signs.
Sintra
This is a PVC plastic material that comes in various thicknesses and colors. It’s great for short or long term, indoor or outdoor use. Sintra is great for many many different applications, since it is both relatively inexpensive, weather-proof, and highly durable.
